Hello. I’m Joanne Blaikie, a DFE fully qualified teacher with twenty-seven years experience teaching in  primary schools across The Midlands and with nine years experience privately tutoring students in GCSE English Language and Literature, Maths up to year 9, SATs preparation for Year 6 and for verbal reasoning for the 11+ tests.

I am DBS checked and paediatric first aid trained. I am based in the village of Woodford Halse, Northamptonshire, and offer face to face tuition across the area, from Daventry in the north to Towcester in the south and the surrounding villages. I also provide 1:1 online tuition nationally.

If you choose to opt for private tuition for your child, I offer the following:

• Private 1:1 lessons planned specifically to meet your child’s needs.
• A choice of week-day evening time slots to fit around your child’s schooling and extra-curricular commitments.
• Holiday time tuition if required.
• Half termly or termly block bookings.
• Tuition tailored to meet academic requirements for end of Key stage Year 6 SATs.
• Tuition in verbal/non-verbal reasoning 11+ papers for grammar or public school entry.
• Support and guidance with any school set homework.
• GCSE English Language and Literature tuition for years 9, 10 and 11.
• Children from any school from year group 4 upwards requiring help in English and Maths are welcome. (Please note, I am not qualified to provide Maths tuition beyond Year 9 level.)
• I also offer sessions for pupils who are home schooled or not able to attend school for health reasons. Please contact me directly to discuss your specific needs.
